Clogging is a type of folk dancing with roots in traditional European dancing, early African-American dance, and traditional Cherokee dance, according to Wikipedia. The dancer’s footwear is used musically by striking the heel, the toe, or both in unison against a floor or each other to create audible percussive rhythms. We just know its high energy, a great workout, and tons of fun.
Clogging at Dance Tech is taught by Amy Brooks, an award winning instructor. Parents may contact her at 528-6499 for more information on the class. Students are also welcome to audit her classes one time for free.
