After watching last night’s performances, I felt compelled to commend you and your instructors. My granddaughter has danced at your studio for a number of years. I am so grateful that you not only strive for excellence, but integrity as well! There is a standard in dress, music, and choreography that is not present in all dance studios.  You allow each girl’s personality to shine through while striving for perfection. I am amazed at the caring, compassion, and love that the dancers show for each other. Even though they are competitive, they seem to always be there for each other! Both my daughter and granddaughter feel that camaraderie and that Dance Tech is their family away from home. Your studio has built their confidence, poise, and social skills! I would also like to compliment you on giving back to the community with the December performance, the Twin Falls competition, etc. I realize that it is not easy, but wanted you and the staff at Dance Tech to know that you are doing an excellent job!

Want to get out and have fun while learning something new? A new session of Adult Ballroom classes begins this Friday, April 6th at Dance Tech Academy. For the April session the “Cha Cha” will be taught each Friday at 7:00-8:00 PM, and in May students will learn the “Swing.” The cost for a session is $50 per couple. Tell your friends and call DTA at 525-3229 to assure your spot in the class.

Idaho Falls professional dance company, The Dance Collaborative, invites you to join them for their spectacular event “Beyond the Ring”. Come join the circus crowd and witness TDCs artistic and insightful presentation. This black tie event will take place Saturday March 7th, at 7:00PM with a pubic meet and greet gala directly following. Step right up and enjoy a classy and entertaining evening out with the company members of TDC.

  Our dancers first competition of the season is quickly approaching! There’s no better way to kick of the season than with a competition on local turf. The 16th annual Technical Moves Competition will be at Bonneville High March 16-17. The competition features renown, independent judges, and competitions in duos, solos, trios, teams, drill down, dance down and Miss Photogenic, and dancers from all over the region travel here to compete. Admission is $3 and up, and there will be concessions. Technical Moves is sponsored by Dance Tech Academy.

Z-LOSS IS HERE AGAIN!

This exciting Z-Loss challenge includes 2 MONTHS of UNLIMITED ZUMBA classes!

Contest goes from March 1^st through April 30^th. We will kick off this challenge March 3rd with a fun 2-hour class at 8:30-10:30 AM, the last ½ hour we will go over the Zumba Food plan.

Cost is $85 per person. Great prizes for the winner and runners up! Contestants will have the option to weigh and measure each Saturday to track their progress. The winner of the contest will be determined by percentage of weight and inches lost within the two months.

The rehearsal times for Wednesday production and other classes are as follows:

We will probably keep this Wednesday schedule through competition season, but we will let you know if we need to change anything.

Reminder: the next Saturday Production rehearsal is Feb. 25 at 9:30-noon. Then on Mar. 10 we are rehearsing all the dances from 9:30-2:00. (we will give them a lunch break).

Keep in mind, you perform at the level you practice and practice makes perfect. 

The East Idaho Dance Showcase performance is Saturday, Feb. 11th at Shelley High School. The event runs from 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. We are excited for this opportunity to show other area dance schools our routines and be able to watch theirs! Admission for adults is $5 for kids 4-17 yr. is $3 and a family ticket for immediate family only will be available this year for $20. Doors will open 12:30 p.m. All of our performances are odd numbers and will be facing the odd side of the gym, so be sure to look for the odd signs and sit on the correct side.

Come support our dancers! Wear your DTA warm-ups and cheer them on!

Performers need to use the locker rooms for changing costumes in. Locker rooms are assigned – just look for the signs. Boys will need to use the restrooms for costume changes. Please use performance etiquette such as waiting to walk across the gym between performances and showing positive encouragement towards other dancers. Please keep the Shelley High School clean, so that we may have the priviledge of coming back again.
The call times are when your performer needs to be there to warm up and practice with their team about 45 minutes before they perform.

Dance Tech Academy Half time Performance Schedule

The following classes will be performing at area high school basketball game half times in December, January, and February. When performing at these basketball game half times the dancers get in free, however parents and other observers must pay even if only there to watch the half time. Performers need to arrive with costumes on and their hair and make-up done, 15 minutes BEFORE the game BEGINS.

This will allow about 45 minutes for us to warm-up and rehearse before the actual half time performance. It is not fair to those who make an effort to be on time and want to look good, so there will be a large deduction of points and the dancer may not be allowed to perform if they haven’t had proper warm-up time.

We love to see our dancers perform and we believe it is a rewarding experience for them.
