    Saturday, March 3, 2018 – Doors open at 7:30 a.m.

At Technical Moves we focus on the “joy of performing,” where every participant receives an award.


All Contestants & Directors will be provided with tickets for admission.
Friday: $5.00 adults and children 12 and over
$3.00 children 4 – 11 $4.00 senior citizens (65 & older)

Saturday: $8.00 adults and children 12 and over
$4.00 children 4 – 11 $6.00 senior citizens (65 & older)

2-day pass: $10.00 adults and children 12 and over
$ 6.00 children 4 – 11 $ 8.00 senior citizens (65 & older)

General Admission

Each team will be scored by three qualified judges. Scores will be averaged and awards will be given to each team. Each dancer will receive a participation award. You will also receive a recording of the judges comments. Special Awards – i.e., best costumes, best technique, etc. – will also be awarded. For Solo, Duo, and Trio competitions, each contestant will be rated and will receive a larger individual trophy.

Master Class

Master Classes (by ability) will be held during the judges breaks on Saturday. Dancers registered for a Master Class will be taught choreography by professional instructors.

The entry fee is $7.00 if paid with registration, $10.00 if paid on competition day.

Photogenic Contest

To enter the Photogenic Contest, send a high-resolution photograph to [email protected], an entry form and $35.00 to the address below. Age divisions will be determined by the number of entrees. Photographs will be published in the Technical Moves program and displayed at the competition. All participants will receive an award at the end of Saturday’s competition.

Team Photos

$10.00 per photo and we will put it in our souvenir program!
We must receive all team photographs by February 15, 2018.

Team, Solo, Duet & Trio Competition

Divisions are determined by group size, average age, ability, style of dance and number of entries. Time limits are as follows:

  • Solos, Duos, and Trios 1 – 3 minutes
  • Groups 1 ½ – 4 minutes
  • Production numbers 2 ½ – 8 minutes

(Additional minutes may be purchased for $10 per 30 seconds.)
All music must be on a clean CD. No cassette tapes. Only one routine on each CD. Remember: always have a back up ready. Music must be turned into studio/dancer check-in desk 1 hour before performance time or before the start time at the beginning of the day.

Categories & Divisions

Teams will be judged according to AGE, ABILITY LEVEL: Novice, Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced, and Pro-Am (see registration for details); and STYLE OF ROUTINE (Jazz, Lyrical, Ballet, Hip-Hop/funk, Modern, Tap & Clog, Cheer, Novelty, Prop, Variety, Character, Production, etc.). We do our best to have your team judged fair, but we are limited to the honest information you provide. Please be fair and honest in the placement of your teams. Points will be deducted for teams entered in the wrong division.

Entry Fees

  • Team Competition: $ 14.00 per dancer/routine.
  • Solo – $50.00 Duet – $90.00 ($45.00/dancer)
  • Trio – $105 ($35.00/dancer)
  • Photogenic Contest – $35.00

Entry fees due by February 1, 2018

  • $25 “Early Bird” discount for team registration if received by January 19, 2018.
  • No late entries accepted after February 15, 2018.
